Here is the Editor of "New Scientist" who suppports animal research, BUT he points out the terrible quality of the research and reliability of the results. It really hurts the scientific community's arguments that animal research saves lives. It's more fuel for opponents.

The researchers speculate that this is because of the contrast against the green canopy background – an explanation that seems a bit spurious to me if applied to captive birds. My most memorable encounter with a non-wildfowl hybrid was some years ago in Finland, when I was taken to a Blackgrouse lek where two c**k Racklehahns were present. These two Racklehahns were quite different.

So armed with some knowledge from the “ Access Considerations for Birding Locations ” page on the Birdability website and some research, I twice visited the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge near Portland, Oregon with accessibility in mind.
