I also really love the sea turtle, and the “petting” area where you can touch little sharks and rays. Penguins are one of my favorite things to visit at the aquarium. Of course, the gift shop is a lot of fun too, they even have this big “Bruce the shark” hanging out there.

One of the amazing aspects of Brigantine in late spring is the sheer volume of turtles one can encounter. On a single trip I have seen four species of turtle, which must be my all time high in one day. Happy turtling! They are also easily my favorite species of turtle. I don't know if she was being sarcastic, but in my town I see dead armadillos, opossums, raccoons, all manner of turtles, and squirrels dead in the middle of the road frequently. I tweeted about a similar incident about a month ago and someone replied that she was glad there was someone fighting for the safe-dining rights of hawks.

It’s easy to choke it with food while you’re feeding it and chances are good that you’d raise the chick like a pet and you’d end up with an adult bird that doesn’t know what its predators are and seek humans for food and mating…aka an unreleasable bird.

I honestly don’t understand the need to sneak up on a snail but then again what do I know, when I was little I had a pet turtle that ran away. I had never before seen a Limpkin do this. It would hold its wing out as it walked. Finally, I was able to single out a Green Ibis for a photo.
