In Oregon you can’t own any “dangerous” wild animals, but you can get a special permit for a service monkey and anyone can fill their backyard with giraffes. For instance, you can own a lion in Alabama, but not in California. Are we fed up yet?

A single large spider monkey, which might be out of view, equals a large number of lightly built and small birds which may be scattered across the landscape. To remedy this, I visited the Animal Diversity Web site at the University of Michigan. This is also because mammals are large. A little bit of bird biomass goes a long way.
