But once I get back home to Mexico, I will be climbing hills on livestock trails once again. And I must be careful to protect my skin, having had a couple of basal cells removed. I will often walk on the sides of steep slopes, staring at the abyss below. Or I may slog on the crusty floorr of a dry lakebed.

Honestly, How Much Could It Rain?

My camera and binoculars, protected by the light coat I had packed, were wet but fully functional. The vast majority were Western Gulls , which, happily, cannot be seen in central Mexico. It would have been a typical rainy California day for, say, the month of January, with steady drizzle punctuated by more substantial showers.
