Pets Aplenty is a humorous book written by Malcolm Welshman, a retired vet who has worked at London Zoo, in a small animal hospital, and as a consultant dealing with exotics. Pets Aplenty draws on experiences in his life as a vet, but told through the eyes of his alter ego, Paul Mitchell. So, let’s chat about the book!

In addition to birding as much as I can and my full-time job in Okaloosa County, I also work part-time for Voices for Biodiversity , an online magazine. In the past, V4B has published stories about avian field work in Colombia , counting shorebirds along the Florida coast, and so much more (over 200 in all!).

I couldn't find confirmation on the site, but read about them in Healthy Pet magazine.) This way, they can protect the dog and, in cases of abuse, take it back without any legal hassle. (I I don't know how many guide dog groups do this though. It seems like the best approach to me though.

But it is most probable that the birds are released or escaped pets. There are a lot of pet psittacines out there that escape or are released. There is the usual anecdote that they escaped from an airport shipment, which sort of makes sense, since Fort Tilden is not that far from Kennedy Airport. The answer lies in the nests.
