Why do wild animals like lions generally not care about people if they're in a Jeep?

of lions and just park close to them in a Jeep with no roof, and the lions barely acknowledge the humans. And the humans also don't seem to feel any worry or fear, even the tourists are happy to take hundreds of pictures a few feet away from WILD lions in a car with no roof. I don't get it.
