It's bad enough to send animals to zoos, but to a zoo in Baghdad?? Tags: zoos iraq. It makes me sick thinking about the animals already there (numbering 1,500 including lions and tigers.).

The Baghdad Zoo rakes in some more animals. Unlike rhesus monkeys, patas are not considered desirable for research, and there has been little demand for either from zoos — until now. I am no fan of zoos, especially in an unstable country like Iraq. Tags: zoos baghdad primates. We don't have a problem with that."

Nils Olav, a king penguin on the Norwegian King's Guard , was bestowed a knighthood for simultaneously defusing an IED while taking out a machine gun in Iraq. OK, I don't think Norway even has troops in Iraq. The IED was already defused. Apparently he got a little nervous when he saw he sword. Update - They have it on video!

Perhaps it would be better to move the tigers to that bigger reserve, or maybe a zoo. The Iraq War was a demonstration of the most dangerous and beguiling aspect of the should – the belief that what should be is so obvious that a nudge will make it so.
