But within the last year, an animal cruelty investigation almost shut one down because spikes were being used to antagonize the bull. Next time, though, I might want to hook up with an animal rights group to protest. This was a clear violation of animal law. We are in Gustine and we were invited to the spectacle being held tonight.

Although I really do need to figure out where the break is to include accurate information about this species for the Costa Rica Birds Field Guide app , I want to investigate anyways because that will require birding in some awesome places. Yes, this is one chicken-like marsh bird that really does act like a chicken on occasion.

Mago National Park certainly deserved more exploration and I wished we had time to investigate the well appointed campsites along the Mago River. Other quality birds seen in the park that morning included the endemic Wattled Ibis, Banded Snake Eagle , migrant Pallid Harriers, Nubian Woodpecker and Brown Babbler.
