I want to trap a mouse that lives in my house and keep it as a pet. Otherwise it takes its chances out in the field. What do you all think?

Dad has been feeding it cheese so they're tight I think it watches aircrash investigations with him on TV. I know it's generally accepted it's a bad idea to try to make a wild animal a pet but given he's not stressed by me I think he'd prefer the cage to death if he could choose. So Reddit, what do you think?
