At first I thought it was a pile of poop, but when I poked it with a stick it was gelatinous. I found it on the ground a few feet from the base of a pine tree.

Angus directed me to a story about the Calgary Stampede (rodeo) and the Calgary and Vancouver Humane Societies which had me asking: Whose side are they on? The Calgary Humane Society works with the Stampede to make sure the animals are safe (and by the way that's impossible if the animals are being used in the rodeo. Not the rodeo.

Black-crowned Night Heron A few things that I love about San Diego is that the organization could not be better. Although the property has seen human impacts, there have been recent efforts to improve water quality and restore this important habitat. It is in a major metro area with many restaurants and hotel options.

So we announce the formation of a new, national organization dedicated to the preservation of the rat. Like cats, the rat was introduced over much of the world by humans. Trap-neuter-release is the only humane way to do this but it is expensive and will take a huge corps of volunteers to make it effective on a large scale.

There would then be three options: 1) re-home them to people who will keep them inside; 2) drop them off at an animal shelter as far away as possible; or 3) humanely euthanize them. What can she do? But when safe, able workers and members of rescue organizations are needed to work hands-on in countries in need. Contribute to rescue efforts. They depend upon charitable contributions to keep.

When a muscle is used, its metabolism changes from aerobic (uses oxygen) to anaerobic (using stored energy), which produces lactic acid. Death can occur instantaneously, or days/weeks/months later.
