The animals on farms are created for the sole purpose of human consumption. Finally, people who object to our moral stance jump species and say we should object to the lion killing the gazelle. Whether lions can do that or not is not something I think about. The choice isn't the wild or the farm. It's not pretty.

This brings up the question of how one can distinguish between what is forbidden by lactovo moral vegetarianism and vegan moral vegetarianism. Presumably it would include all human beings, whether they are in the habit of eating animals or not. In the case of human beings, the situation is different.
