Bea sent me a link to an article in Gourmet called " Humane Slaughterhouses ," by Rebecca Marx, that is absurd. They believe you can take a life that doesn't want to be taken in a humane way, and I don't agree. It’s how we treat humans, too. But I'm getting ahead of myself. The needs of the cow aren't even mentioned.

So, even if animals are killed painlessly and raised for food in humane ways, it is wrong to kill them. It is also probable that very subnormal adult human beings do not. KBJ: Martin forgot about the human beings who lack a right to life, including infants. Only moral agents have autonomy rights.

He clearly thinks that it is wrong to cause animals to suffer unnecessarily, but he appears to be somewhat ambivalent about killing animals (provided the killing is carried out humanely). Since it would not be wrong to eat the flesh of animals raised in that manner, eating meat is not morally wrong! [As Running time: 12 Minutes.
