A baby lowland gorilla was rescued from smugglers on Sunday, April 24. She is thought to be about two years old, was hidden at the bottom of a bag and covered with clothes when Congolese Wildlife Authority officers arrested the suspected trafficker at Goma airport. No wonder wildlife trafficking is such a problem. In this case, someone confused a baby chimp with a baby gorilla. ICCN (Congolese Wildlife Authority) rangers received a tip-off that someone in Goma was trying to sell a baby gorilla. Tags: iccn chimpanzees wildlife trafficking africa congo.
