Picathartes – Africa’s strangest birds
JANUARY 10, 2012
Gray-necked Picathartes foraging in leaf-litter on the forest floor in Korup National Park, Cameroon. It occurs from south-west Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea (both mainland and on the island of Bioko), Cameroon and Gabon. Sites in Gabon and CAR seem to be very seasonal and hit-and-miss, and Equatorial Guinea, like Nigeria, is not a recommended birding country.
