Christopher Barden, an American vegan living in Beijing, and whom I mention frequently, has started his own blog/"Notes on Life" ! Earlier this year he'd send snapshots of various vegan sites that use Google's AdSense to the people who run the sites to illustrate their well-intentioned message was flanked by fur ads or other such undesirable.

In the early morning hours of October 17th, a lone activist infiltrated the fur farm at 92659 Simonsen Road in Astoria Oregon. This action is being claimed for the vegan straight edge community. fur farmers are a dying breed. About 1,500 mink were released from their cages with at least 200 of these being breeding stock.

For example, why is it so hard for our family members and co-workers – many of whom have companion animals that they love – to cut cruelty from their diets and go vegan? And why do so many people say the oppose the cruel practices of factory farming, yet still eat meat, eggs and dairy products?

How ridiculous is it that " On the Psychological Continuum ," to say nothing of an article against rabbit fur, is on the same page as Gabriella's Fur Den? Is this like eating at a non-vegan restaurant, where by doing so you support animal use and abuse? So this was in my e-mail box this morning. Or perhaps it's my lucky day.

Vegan education/advocacy for animals is easiest for me when I know my audience. If you've seen The Witness , you know that Eddie drove around with a van that had a continuously looping video of what it takes to get the fur that some find so appealing (and he gave out leaflets, too).

Part of me wants to see those posts out of curiosity, and the other part writes him off instantly and withdraws any previous credit given because he so obviously does not understand what animal rights is and doesn't know that many vegans and animal rights activists see their cause as one of a handful that are all connected.
