Though originally from Switzerland he now makes New York City his home where I (Corey) have had the great fortune of meeting him, birding with him, and photographing wildlife with him. Their habitat is fast-running, rocky streams and rivers where they feed on aquatic invertebrates and insects, larvae, mollusks and small fish.

Quite possibly, this laughingthrush is now locally extinct in Switzerland or at least in Basel. Fish & Wildlife Service has a web page for this species – but it contains absolutely no information. ” Even more strangely, the U.S.

I slept in hotel in Zurich but didn’t leave the airport or even clear immigration, so I can’t really say I’ve been to Switzerland either. Perched high above the river were a number of birds of prey, including the one with the most evocative call of the African bush, the African Fish-eagle. Water Thick-knees.
