During this year’s competition, each team raised money for – and awareness of – the illegal trapping of migratory birds in Cyprus , a fitting cause for a race that celebrates the miracle of migration. In contrast, the females need to make sure not to get duped into raising actual cuckoos – the buntings are a targeted host species ( source ). But then, maybe not – it seems to be the nature of science that the more you know, the more you want to know. Maybe there is some justice in this world after all.
