Although I love dogs they're too dependent on humans, it's true that stray/feral dogs can form packs and survive in the wild a regular dog like a golden retriever would get eaten by a lion instantly. The ones who would last until the very end would be lions , tigers bears, eagles and wolves. Cats would be the next.

The Big Five–lion, leopard, African buffalo, elephant, and rhinoceros–are impressive, but my heart lies with the patterned mammals, giraffes and zebras. Sadly, we weren’t able to join them or the leopard.

Well, Copenhagen Zoo is back in the news; a few weeks after killing a giraffe and feeding it to some lions, it went and killed some of those same lions. This morning I opened up my iPad, read the Guardian and saw that four lions were killed without reason by a zoo. Losing a few non-breeding lions in zoos a great deal less.
