Although the trains at the Thessaloniki-Alexandroupolis line seem to be few and far in between, they still stop at this village station turned into a restaurant. Last but not least, there were three species of shrikes, Red-backed , Lesser Grey and at least 2 Masked Shrikes , possibly 2 more, an entire family (not all were showing so well).

Because although the animal struggles to even get up and do his business outside (we don't just put a diaper on him so he also trains his body a bit) he shows no signs of pain or suffering, he is just very tired.

We know that Corey and his family came through the ordeal safely, but what of the warblers? Two years on, the train line has been repaired at last and I paid a visit to the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge. There has been no update since the pre-storm post and I, for one, was getting worried.

On large islands shaded with multiple trees, a family of orangutans and another of gorillas lounged in the green grass. The nest sat perilously close to a set of narrow train tracks, which guided an equally small train packed full of little kids and their parents to get a closer view of some of the animals.

Called home to the Oregon Coast to operate the family motel, in her free time she leads Tufted Puffin walks and escapes to guide at birding festivals and explore the world as often as possible. The first we went to was a family home with generations of mezcaleros and the process being completed in their front courtyard.
