Hurrrrrrray for New Zealand!
Yes I know, this one individual matters little in the grand scheme of population dynamics and nature conservation, the pied shag is widespread and the money had better been spent on, say, the Kakapo or the descendants of Old Blue.
But it just goes to show how much the Kiwis care about their wildlife! It was in New Zealand that I was at a party, talked about birding and women actually considered that attractive! ONLY in New Zealand!! 🙂
