Pheasant Coucal-the sound of summer!

The most vocal species is the Brown Honeyeater. Pheasant Coucals are cuckoos, but they are very unusual because they actually build their own nests and raise their own young. Earlier this year we encountered a Pheasant Coucal family close to Broome. As the temperature rises and the available water reduces they venture in.
