This location is great as it is close to Jeanne’s Family, as well as a very short drive to the Billy Frank Jr. In 1974, Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge was established to protect the delta and its diversity of fish and wildlife habitats. These were my first Fox Sparrows of the year. Nisqually NWR.

Cats, along with other introduced mammals, are genuinely a problem in New Zealand in a way they aren’t in most of the rest of the world (Australia has similar problems mostly with foxes and cats). That said, I have not been impressed by a New Zealand economist, Gareth Morgan, calling for New Zealand to wipe out cats.

Tribes and Birds of the Lower Omo Valley by Adam Riley

Nearly 2,500 square miles of the wildest sections of the Omo Valley are protected in the almost contiguous Omo National Park on the river’s west bank (Ethiopia’s largest park) and Mago National Park on the east bank. Quality time was spent with a friendly Hamar family at their homestead of grass huts surrounding their cattle corral.

Fish & Wildlife Service expects sea levels to rise due to global warming, swamping beaches on which Snowy Plovers currently nest, it is good news that the number of beaches proposed for protection as Snowy Plover nesting habitat has doubled.
