I don't support animal research and I have no sympathy for animal researchers. I think they are clever cowards who use extremists to hide their work and to obfuscate the truth about what they do to animals and whether it is truly necessary. I would never advocate violence against a researcher.

Lanthier, a veterinarian and walrus researcher who took the helm in Calgary two years ago, says the cancellation of the polar bears exhibit might please some animal-rights extremists, but the reality is a blow to Canada's white bears. Clement Lanthier, Calgary Zoo president and CEO (is this a corporation??) sounds like a real jerk.

Our members are pet owners, dog and cat clubs, obedience clubs and rescue groups as well as breeders, trainers, veterinarians, research scientists, farmers, fishermen, hunters and wildlife biologists. So, I'm like, waaaaaait a minute. Who are these guys?
