Ruppy and four other beagles are the first dogs to glow, though the experiment has taken place in other animals. They do their work at the Seoul National University in South Korea. Byeong-Chun Lee and his team created the dogs by cloning fibroblast cells that create a red fluorescent gene.

But really, the year was sewn up six days in when one bird made a spirited attempt to disembowel me with claws as long as my hand (or at least that was what he seemed to want to do).
