They are much more independent and still behave similarly to wild cats they are still pets and rely on humans to survive. Although I love dogs they're too dependent on humans, it's true that stray/feral dogs can form packs and survive in the wild a regular dog like a golden retriever would get eaten by a lion instantly.

of course that's not possible (due to biology or whatever); I just don't understand why more dog owners aren't giving their pets buttons, for example, or why the fact that parrots can pretty much talk to you and to other parrots with the language they learn isn't like. universally mind blowing?

What is the consensus on places that offer experiences like petting an otter or kangaroo?

Somebody told me about Barn Hill Preserve of Delaware where you can pay to "swim with otters" and pet a kangaroo. So is this type of experience something I should consider or is this just a shady practice and we should stay away from it? My wife is obsessed with otters.
