The Bald Eagle was flying upside-down with talons up trying to ward off the small white falcon! Brian Laben had a wonderful experience seeing this rarity in upstate New York (or, is that mid-state? Within 15 minutes the Gyrfalcon flew in. Not only did it fly in but it attacked a Bald Eagle! After that, the Gyrfalcon was gone.

I was a bit sad, too, that we had annoyed the owl enough that it felt it had to strafe us … my normal MO is to avoid stressing out wildlife. This spectacular montane vulture reminds me more of a giant falcon as it cleaves the air on long wings.

Hence, the experiment was created: a plot was fenced off to keep the animals away and now willow saplings did survive being submerged for half a year. Hornbills are spectacular under any circumstances, but when a pair lands in a bush beside you at eye-level and begin mutual preening , it makes for a spectacular experience. My fiance and I drove nearly two hours to the Jasper-Pulaski Fish and Wildlife Area in rural Indiana to watch them come in for the evening. I chose the owl.

I was trying to find that answer for a while and it turned into a very annoying experience. The most bird-rich northeast of India includes e.g. the Kaziranga NP and the Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, respectively, together with the world’s largest Amur Falcon roost in Nagaland.
