In January 2022, the Collaborate submitted 209 checklists in 5 countries (Costa Rica, United States, Mexico, United Kingdom, and Serbia). The sole addition to the life list is the notable Steller’s Sea Eagle that was seen in several places in Maine, an event that made the national news in the Washington Post.

I participated on the first edition of this event in 2013 as a support member for the South African team. Four teams with renowned birders from United States, South Africa and United Kingdom will travel through the diverse and endemic bird rich region of Northern Peru, from May 12 thought May 20, 2014.

The organizers, the Peruvian Tourism Board (PromPeru) and Inkaterra Hotels Association saw this event as an opportunity to foster environmental awareness and introduce the idea of bird habitat conservation. Sheila Stewart, of Capricom Animal Rescue centre in Mold, United Kingdom, said that she believes that this can be overcome by the animal’s owners taking out pet insurance. Extras-some insurers will cover your pet in commercial events while others will refuse to pay for any injury resulting from your pet taking part in a show.
