Birding Guanica, Puerto Rico

It was early afternoon when Mike and I arrived at Bosque Estatal de Guanica, the large dry forest reserve on the south coast of Puerto Rico. After all, it is an endangered species that once went missing for seventy-one years. Seriously…). happy birders. Amazingly, we heard a nightjar almost as soon as darkness fell.

Searching for the Puerto Rican Parrot
