In Defense of Animals has taken up the cause of Lucky the elephant, the only elephant at the San Antonio Zoo, alleging poor conditions and emotional distress. She has been at the San Antonio Zoo for 47 years. Tags: zoos animal cruelty Texas elephants. What amazes me is Lucky's age.49 49 years old. Is this right?

I can also go to parks or zoo's, but it wouldn't be the same : there are people, it costs money, I can't really help the animals, etc. I feel safe with animals. Pet sitting might be an option, I need to think about it more.

The species was bred at the zoo of Memphis, Tennesee ( source ). Adolescent Galahs are prone to behavioral problems; they will become noisy, aggressive, and destructive if not provided enough physical or emotional support. I guess the females feel that the blue of the bower treasures works well with their eyes.

They were one, two or three to a cage, and I am 80 percent sure the accommodations were exemplary as far as such institutions (or for that matter traditional zoos) go. Like other mammals, they are capable of strong emotions. We approached a long corridor lined, to the vanishing point as in a perspective drawing, with caged chimpanzees.
