Busch Gardens in Tampa Bay recently welcomed two more baby giraffes, bringing the herd to 17! And they are super cute too! The giraffes joined the rest of the heard on the Serengeti Plain on July 13th. What is neat about giraffes is that it is common for other members of the herd to become involved with the care of newborns. From the press release: A giraffe’s gestation period is approximately 15 months, and the new babies will nurse for about one year.

Cherry City Bath and Body is a great new, vegan bath and body company! I recently got a chance to try some of their items, including the new scent, Good Karma, that supports animal rescue. I just love using everything I got to try because not only does it all smell great, but I love knowing that everything is animal friendly too. So of course we wanted to spread the word about Good Karma.

Today’s Cute of the Day comes from a very unique animal rescue group. The group is called Second Acts , and though they don’t rescue animals themselves, they raise funds to help smaller rescue groups continue their good work for animals. This adorable kitten is just one of many pets who have found a forever home thanks to the work Second Acts does.

The Dublin Dog Foundation (DDF) has partnered with Freedom Service Dogs, Inc. (FSD) for their second annual philanthropic campaign. The DDF will be raising $20,000 for the training and care of a service dog (including medical bills, training and food) which will be donated to one lucky war vet from the FSD group. DDF will raise the money for the service dog by raffling off a used Jeep that features a custom paint job and custom parts.
