11pm: Tuck foster dog (aka Munchkin – after 34 they’ve all become “Munchkin”) in on the couch and head off to bed. 2am: Wake up to “tap, tap, tap, tap” as Munchkin frantically searches the house for companionship. Tuck Munchkin back in and go back to bed. 4am: Wake to the smell of poop. POOP! Munchkin pooped in the kitchen, but that’s okay because we’re working on paper training with this one.

"The Animals We Use," Revised

As anyone who writes and edits knows, it's far easier to produce a longer powerful, thorough piece than a shorter one. I intentionally deleted the entire section on the environment, I'm not dealing with the health benefits of not using animals, and meanwhile I wanted to present a logical progression of comments and questions that, for its perspective, was thorough.

I got the chance recently to read A Dog’s Purpose , a book that is told from the perspective of a dog! I started reading the book and could not put it back down! First, I got pulled into the story of a sweet dog named Toby who was rescued by an animal lover who, while good hearted, wasn’t doing things according to the rules. Then suddenly Toby’s story ended in the saddest of ways (euthanized).
