July is the least interesting month for birding in Shanghai – it is too hot, and there is pretty much no migration. A good month to go abroad and watch birds elsewhere, which I did (Indonesia). Still, due to the unofficial and cruel rules of a heartless blog editor (a German, of course), I have to write a post about birding Shanghai this month.

[link] I didn't touch him until I got a wildlife person on the line. Hey guys, I'm based in Canada and when I drove into.a Shopper's Drug Mart today. Found this guy chilling between some spots and pulled in hoping he would hop away or fly off but he didn't. I don't think he could. I was going to ship some stuff, but turned out that everything closed down at 6.

You gotta love Cuckoos. Not just the Common Cuckoo or the Yellow-billed Cuckoo, you must love the whole family Cuculidae, all 32 general and 148 species of them, from Anis to Roadrunners to Coucals to Lizard Cuckoos to Koels to Malkohas to Drongo-Cuckoos to Hawk-Cuckoos.

I was sitting near my porch eating and talking with my parent. Then a young fox came and started listening. I looked at it and it didn't run away or anything. I instantly thought that it may have rabies and got prepared to leave or fight, but then it calmly just went away (not even rushing) I will check if he/she comes today, if yes I will update this post.

It's a very young swallow, she came 2 days ago, she didn't move an inch in the first day and in the second she learned moving using her wings only (she doesn't fly). Here's what she acts like : Whenever I come close to it, she flees to a corner and keeps staring at it, and when I touch her she blows her wings. She seems scared of my hands, but comfortable with my feet, she even pass through my feet as if it was nothing when moving.
