Help, animals in the walls

Reddit Animals

I live in an attic and have recently been disturbed by noise in the walls / roof. They come from animals (marten / sleepers) that run around and scratch in the walls and roof. The noises are so loud that I can no longer sleep normally. How do I get the animals out of the walls / roof, or who can help me (which profession is needed)?

Cat brought in vole, healthy except for broken hind legs

Reddit Animals

Exactly as title says, in need of advice. Our cat has brought in a vole, and it's otherwise okay (eating, shuffling about, no longer terrified), but its hind legs don't work. As we have two cats I feel it unwise to keep and look after it, although possible, but taking it back outside feels very cruel. However, not sure I can bring myself to put it down as it really does look otherwise okay.

Island Scrub-Jays on Santa Cruz Island

10,000 Birds

It is funny the lengths that some of us choose to go to see birds. You may have heard tales of “big year birders” or “big listers” flying across the country when a rarity shows up that they still need for whatever current list they are keeping. I always reflect on my luck when a Collared Plover showed up just before noon at a playa, which was a half-hour drive from my work in Mission, Texas.
