Lady Helen has often made the point that we get very little opportunity to spend quality time together. The old saying “ be careful what you wish for ” comes to mind. I wonder how many of us will be able to cope with the coming weeks (who knows how many) of quality time with our nearest and dearest? Staying at home saves lives; that has been made clear.

“The Edge,” an LA novel of sex, drugs, alt-rock, and (some) birds

Reviewed regularly on this blogsite are: (1) bird identification guides, visual and sonic; (2) books about living with birds or caring for rescued birds; and (3) alcoholic beverages named after birds. They are well-worthy of review because all of them can be of direct practical use to birders in their birdly pursuits. What about books of fiction? Direct practical use, maybe not so much, but still worthy of a birder’s interest, to the extent they deal with avifauna in one way or another.
