10,000 Birds
JANUARY 19, 2023
The fall of 2022 turned out to be a good time for birding and me. But I didn’t do a very good job with the follow-up tasks: processing my photos, completing my reports, and writing about them in this site. Which is why, upon reviewing my photos from my first post-Old World outing, I realized two things: I hadn’t attached a single photo to my eBird list.

10,000 Birds
JANUARY 19, 2023
On the third day in Napo, the local driving me to a bird hide was coughing a lot. And I was the only guest in an otherwise deserted hotel (shutdown due to lack of staff, with everybody having caught covid). Still, I was healthy. Healthy enough to enjoy the sight of some Blue-winged Minlas , both in a bird hide and in a local park. Birds not used to having their photos taken often do not understand the concept of looking into the camera.
