They are found in the Bahamas, Cuba, the Cayman Islands, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, the Turks and Caicos, Antigua, Barbuda and Jamaica. With assistance from the Negril Area Environmental Protection Trust (NEPT) a boardwalk and nature centre have been established. They are also the rarest.

The one exception is Punta Cana Resort and Club in the Dominican Republic. Fish & Wildlife Service expects sea levels to rise due to global warming, swamping beaches on which Snowy Plovers currently nest, it is good news that the number of beaches proposed for protection as Snowy Plover nesting habitat has doubled.
