Midway, which was once a military facility, has long had mice and it once had rats, though they were eradicated in 1996. On March 21, 2018, FWS released a 198-page document entitled “ Midway Seabird Protection Project — Draft Environmental Assessment.” There is also a website with additional information.

Come@Me: Invasive Species Can Be Awesome

Especially when there are some ‘invasive’ species, like the parrots, that seem to bring little documented harm and a great deal of joy to observers. We all hate Mute Swans too, the more so because their aggressive nature makes their graceful aesthetic and Valentine-card public image seem hypocritical.
