In summary: unless you’re a cow or a human, cow’s milk is always a bad idea. Care does not include milk. Waterbirds feed their young fish.

I foresee a day, perhaps not far in the future, in which it is illegal to raise cows, pigs, and other animals for food. It is that coercion (via legal prohibition) is not a proper method of protecting animals, at least if the aim is to protect animals. Some will reduce their consumption of meat for the sake of the animals.

On the Banning of Eating Cats and Dogs in China

It's just another excuse people have concocted because they like the taste of cow/pig/chicken/fish flesh. Yes, it is hypocritical (speciesism), but who said that we either protect humans or animals? But my initial reaction is that this is like Americans giving up "red meat." Where do people get that idea? What do you think?
