So, here we go… Fighting in Iraq has been affecting starlings. If this was America, we might not be concerned because starlings are an invasive species, at least in North America. In the US, of course, we have meteorologists for that.

Birding the Great German Poo Trail

This, above, and of course Clare M’s fine original post about her poo ponds (not her private ones, the ones of Broome in Australia) are the reason we are talking poop this week. Roughly ten pairs of this predominantly Mediterranean species are breeding here, and it is basically the only place in Germany where they are.
