And of course there are passerines, some which spent the summer at Nanhui, some just returning from their breeding grounds elsewhere.

Releasing White Doves

Reputable companies belong to the International White Dove Society or the National White Dove Release Society, organizations which set rules of conduct and ethics. Ethical businesses post notices on their websites stating that unless the released birds are properly trained and conditioned, they will not survive.

Hummingbird Heaven

Of course, not all of these Salvias occur at Laurelito, but I suspect there are a dozen or more species. The Broad-billed Hummingbird is, of course, also present. While I try to take my photos from an ethical distance, this Broad-tailed was having none of that. In other words, it is hummingbird heaven.
