As you first walk down the paths (or even park) the dominant species is not a bird but Eastern Grey Kangaroos, and lots of them. Speckled Warbler by David Cook (CC). Campbell Park, Canberra. In contrast to most members of the family I have seen till this point they are highly terrestrial and reminded me more of finches than warblers.

And one final treat was a Musky Rat-kangaroo , the smallest member of the macropod (kangaroo and wallaby) suborder, no bigger than a guinea-pig. Oddly for small macropods you’ll find them out and about in the day.
