A lot of art created via AI is truly awful – see the example above. I used a free version of Hotpot – they want the work to be attributed to their company, but frankly, I am not sure this will drive up their sales.

Anyway, the reason for showing this is to indicate that 10,000 Birds is still looking for writers. There is no pay, but the upside of this is that we cannot cut your pay either. So, think about it and contact us if you are interested.

By the way, the prompt I used was “a colorful but realistic bird, photography style, sitting on a sign that says ‘vacancy'”. So, I would not be too surprised to receive a message from Hotpot asking me to remove the attribution … Or maybe all publicity is still good publicity.

Kai Pflug has been living in Shanghai for 20 years. He only became interested in birds in China – so he is much more familiar with birds in China than with those in Germany. While he will only ever be an average birder, he aims to be a good bird photographer and has created a website with bird photos as proof. He hopes not too many clients of his consulting company read this blog, as they will doubt his dedication to providing consulting services related to China`s chemical industry. Whenever he wants to shock other birders, he tells them his (indoor) cats can distinguish several warblers by taste.
