Later come photos of American Redstarts, Black and White Warblers and Swainson’s Thrushes from Colombia a sign these birds started to show up in that country. It was fun to see that folks in Colombia had some kind of migratory bird photo challenge where they would try to outdo on better and better shots of Neotropical migrant birds.

I just read on the news that about 20 Andean Condors (Vultur gryphus) were poisoned in Chile. Unlike the unintentional poisoning of these Condors in Chile, people in other parts of the Andes set poisoned bate to eliminate condor. Other birds were seen crash landing. Another sick condor and two dead ones were found nearby.

Luckily, I recently picked up a bottle of a pisco from Chile, Alto del Carmen Pisco Reservado, that I’ve been meaning to review – this should do nicely for our first-of-year bottle of liquor. Alto del Carmen Pisco Reservado is named for a village in northern Chile in the Huasco River valley of the Atacama Region. Dip averted.
