For my next visit in the following summer, we decided to organize a company birding trip to La Estanzuela – another treasure spot in the Cumbres. We finally reached Mesa de Oso , the table (mountain) of the bear. Also, shouting out “ look on that branch ” is not helpful in a forest and he did a lot of that. It was amazing.

When placed correctly, these feeders are squirrel-free, though, as the Squirrel Buster brochure makes clear, they can still be attacked by raccoons and bears.
