An eastern Missouri woman is sentenced to 12 year in prison for neglecting her dogs. Six dogs were seized. Authorities said the animals were infested with fleas and lacked adequate food and water. The dogs had been left to starve, no food, water or even shelter from freezing temperatures. They also had signs of neglect, broken bones, wounds and infections. Sadly, there were also 27 dead dogs found on the property. It is believed that the dogs were part of a dog fighting ring.

I recently got an email from the Animal Legal Defense Fund. They are pioneering legislation in California to make public animal abuse registries. The Animal Legal Defense Fund (ALDF) today announced an effort aimed at creating public registries in each state of anyone convicted of felony animal abuse.
