We took my father-in-law’s new boat out to a barrier island south of Chincoteague NWR… alas, I had so little faith in our first voyage that I left my camera home for safety. Corey’s Best Bird of the Weekend was his first Piping Plover of the year, at Point Lookout in Long Island’s Nassau County.

The area has a law in place to prevent attracting deer, you can have a bird feeder, but you can’t offer food on the ground. Granted, the law is written poorly, but the man was given several warnings and insisted on feeding birds on the ground and attracted huge flocks of ducks and no doubt raccoons at night.

Meanwhile, I would love to be able to have some kind of law against human beings producing/reproducing more than one person per person. We are a far bigger problem on this planet than the (over)population of feral cats, elephants, Canada geese, or any other creature we "manage" or want to manage, "humanely" or otherwise.
