New Arkansas vet tech legislation poses risks to veterinary patients, clients, and practices

The Arkansas state legislature recently adopted a law that will expand veterinary technician specialists’ (VTS) scope of practice. Another bill still under consideration would dilute the educational background required for veterinary technicians to qualify for licensure.

Sassy needs a home, more information in comments please spread the word

Ocala, Florida This is Sassy she had been brought into a local vet's office in Georgia, the owner wanted to euthanize her due to just not wanting Sassy anymore, due to owner being pregnant, that's it nothing else! Well the vet refused to euthanize a healthy dog. Sassy was posted on reddit & found a home.

Second day of puppies battling parvo

Three of them found loving homes, but unfortunately, the remaining two were adopted by someone who put them in close proximity to sick dogs, resulting in parvo. The vet recommended a minimum of 5 days of treatment. I'm terrified that the vet might stop the treatment, and I don't want these pups to suffer or worse.

What are some jobs that have to do with working with animals?

Possibly a vet in the future. I’m thinking of working at an animal shelter/pound/some kind of adoption place but again, I really don’t know if they’d trust a 16 year old with that type of work. I would really like to work with animals in the future. Next year when i’m able to start working, i’d like to work with animals.
