Afforestation

I started afforesting our church lot in 2016, just after we were able to fence it. My 2016 efforts began with a generous gift of 43 seedlings from a local botanical garden, representing just the sort of diversity that most reforestation efforts lack. Wild Grapes are sprouting in a pot in my yard as I write.

New York City Park Department Contractor Tears Up Imperiled Sparrows Home

A New York City Parks Department contractor just wiped out a breeding population of sparrows in tons of trouble already, on land owned by the parks department that was supposed to be protected as “Forever Wild.” Here’s a short video of the damage. Any destruction like this of a wetland would be bad, of course. Not anymore.
