Can I be charged for defending an animal from a Human?

Reddit Animals

I was having a conversation with a group of friends, and one of our friends showed a video to our group of gross animal abuse involving a cat. I was wondering if anyone knew the legal precedent for defending an animal from a human using physical force? Can I send him to the hospital too, or will that mean jail-time?

Another Fake Animal Welfare Group

Critter News

I was browsing for some quotes when I came across this group - The National Animal Interest Alliance (NAIA). Our members are pet owners, dog and cat clubs, obedience clubs and rescue groups as well as breeders, trainers, veterinarians, research scientists, farmers, fishermen, hunters and wildlife biologists. Clever bastards.

Scientist Advocacy Group Oppose Some Animal Testing

Critter News

Here's a group I've never heard of. I found a link to them on ANIMAL's blog (ANIMAL is a Portuguese animal rights group.) These scientists are NOT an animal rights group. Our primary concern is the advancement of investigative methodologies that lead to effective cures and treatments for human diseases.

Why do some bears come around humans for extended periods of time?

Reddit Animals

So i just saw a short on YouTube about a black bear, just chilling with a group of people at a picnic table and he calmly sat down and ate a sandwich with them. I've also seen a video of a grizzly just lazing about next to a man near a river stream, like literally 3 feet away from the guy.

I say unceremoniously – but I am using the human metric by which we decide what makes noise and what doesn’t. As far as I am aware, these practices have always involved a member of the family group, the flock – at the very least a member of the same species. Without so much as a splash, it slipped into the water.
