On a New Level of Absurdity in the Slaughter Business

And the absurdity is in the reality that the author and the featured person who kills sentient nonhumans for a living, think they're onto something. And though being hauled to their death on a bulldozer is terrible, any other form of slaughter at the hands of another, on that other's timeline and terms, is nevertheless slaughter.

It never ceases to amaze me that people will get upset about the death of an animal whose killing was their job. In " Cows Killed by Lightning Strike ," by Angie Brown of the BBC Scotland, which today was updated to "Lightning Strike Kills Bullocks," we learn that Mr. McDougal was "very upset," numb and shocked by "the carnage he saw."

The problem with that statement is it's not as if farmers are searching "the wild" for cows, pigs, chicken and fish, plucking them from their homes, and plopping them on a farm to live out their (shortened) lives prior to slaughter.
